WOC 2008 by CEZ Group

Early 2008, negotiations on titular sponsor were definitely finalized. After approval by IOF Council, it could be announced, that this role was appointed to CEZ GROUP. In consequence, not only the entire name but also logo of the championships changed with addition of „BY CEZ GROUP“.
CEZ GROUP is dominant Czech producer and supplier of the electrical energy and heating, who also operates majority of the electricity distribution networks. In recent years, the group successfully realizes its strategic target to become leader on the electricity market in the regions of middle- and southeastern Europe. Up to now, the group acquired distribution companies in Bulgaria and Romania, power plants in Poland and Bulgaria and grounded number of subsidiaries in many countries. By the end of 2007 CEZ GROUP created strategic alliance with MOL (similar Hungarian concern), aimed to building of gas power plants in Hungary.
